Well for those that still haven't heard, Jensen spent 5 days at Primary Children's Hospital. He was final diagnosed with Kawasaki's disease. What that does is causes inflammation in the heart arteries, which can lead to enlargement of the arteries and then bulges. Which then can cause clots to form and lead to strokes.
We hope that we caught it in time. We went to our two week cardiologist appointment Friday and found out that the heart has gotten worse since the ECHO in the hospital. They just sent for more labs and said that they wanted to see us in two weeks.
When we went to get the labs we were waiting for them to get ready and Jensen whispered in my ear and asked if they were going to stick a syringe in his arm again. I said yes. He didn't want to stay anymore.
Some of you have asked how we knew he had Kawasaki's. We didn't. It started with him getting a high fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes on Thursday. By Sunday he had crusties around his mouth and sores in his mouth. The whites of his eyes had turned red and swollen and were very sensitive to light. His hands, feet and genital started to swell and peel. He was so sick on Monday our doctor ordered blood work. On Tuesday he said it was Kawasaki's. He sent us up to Primary's that day. We were there until Saturday night. It is a long story what happened at the hospital, so if you want more details you will just have to email me.
Here is Jensen with Aunt Jenny sleeping by his side the first night. She came up to give me moral support. Jensen had the blanket over his head most of the time because his eyes were so sensitive to the light.
Jensen got to try and play some video game when he felt up to taking the blanket off his head.

Jensen enjoying his late night snack. When your child is sick you just about let them eat anything just to get something down their throat. He had such a sore mouth that just about anything hurt going in. Except for Chocolate milk that he had every meal and Chocolate ice cream that he had almost every night. That is the fun thing about Primary's, you can order anything any time of the day. It was a sad day when he came home and found that mom was not about to become a short order cook!
He is getting a little better but they say that he will be irritable and have a loss of appetite for another 12 weeks. I hope to get him eating better though, he has lost 10 pounds since this all started. He was 36 at his four year old check up and now he is 26 pounds. He and Teagan way about the same now. I wish I could do that.

Ugghhh!! This totally causes me greif. I hate how imperfect medicine is!! I want him to be the cute little chubby guy he was when I was tending him. I hope he keeps getting better and better.
I am so sorry to hear about Jensen. I hope that they will be able to help his heart from getting worse. Good luck and we will keep you in our prayers-
Crazy. Like Hollie, I hope his heart doesn't have any lasting damage. Are they going to try a stress test later in life or are hey pretty sure they got it early? We really hope the best for y'all.
P.s. Your not a short order cook? ha ha
HOly CRAPPERS!!! I've never heard of that disease before. Now every time my boys get a fever I'm going to wonder... I just found your blog today. I love that I can keep up with everyone this way!
I love the music. It makes me cry. I love Jensen so much and I just want him to recover with no lasting effects from this disease. I'm angry at the Dr.s and hospital.
